A cast of familiar voices will be heard when the live online video
broadcast of the 49th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car
Racing begins Friday, February 13 on FansChoice.TV powered by
51 TV. In addition to the live video feed, 51 TV has assembled a
talented group of on-air talent to help deliver the excitement
throughout the online broadcast.
As a result of a partnership between NASCARHomeTracks.com,
FansChoice.TV and 51 TV, fans unable to make the trip to New
Smyrna Speedway (FL) will be able to tune in online for eight nights
of racing action throughout Speedweeks.
Leading the way during the eight nights of racing will be Speed51.com owner and veteran motorsports broadcaster Bob Dillner. Dillner brings years of national television experience to the team and will be displaying his talents throughout the week both in the booth and on pit road.
“This is something that short track racing fans have been wanting for a long time and I’m thrilled to be part of the team bringing the action to fans all across the world,” said Dillner. “Thanks to our partnership with FansChoice.TV and NASCARHomeTracks.com, we’ve been able to put together a talented on-air team to bring the excitement of the event to people who may otherwise not be able to experience it.”
Another very talented duo from the Midwest region of the United States will also be joining the broadcast team. Speed51.com’s Adam Mackey and Matt Prieur will both be on the call at different times during the week to deliver the action. Those who have tuned into prior 51 TV events or attended races in the Midwest know that Mackey and Prieur are two of the best in the game today.
“It's always a great privilege to be a part of bringing Speedweeks coverage from New Smyrna to fans across the country and beyond,” said Mackey. “This year, with the addition of video for the first time, it's going to be great to bring the fans unable to be there closer to the action.”
Spencer Lewis, a familiar voice in the province of Ontario, will be making the trip south to New Smyrna Beach and will also be a member of the broadcast team. Lewis is the voice of Ontario’s Sunset Speedway and the OSCAAR Super Late Model Tour. He will be making his debut on 51 TV during Speedweeks.
One individual not making his debut with 51 TV will be Speed51.com Executive Director Matt “Duke” Kentfield. Kentfield, a native of the state of Connecticut, will be joining the broadcast booth for a select number of events for the Tour-Type Modifieds including the Richie Evans Memorial and John Blewett III Memorial.
"The Modifieds are near and dear to my heart, so it's an honor to be on the call of some of those fantastic events during this year's World Series at New Smyrna," said Kentfield. "The rest of the time, I'll be more behind the scenes watching our other talented broadcasters call all the action for the fans who couldn't make it to Florida this time around."
In addition to the talent in the booth throughout the weekend, 51 will also have a variety of reporters working pit road. Speed51.com’s Rob Blount and Mikayla Kugler will be bringing viewers behind the scenes delivering the latest reports from pit road. Both Blount and Kugler have excelled in the role during previous 51 TV broadcasts including the Snowball Derby.
